Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

Procedures

Conjunctivitis, or pink eye, as it is often referred, is a common eye condition characterized by red, watery, puffy or oozy eyes. Often caused by a virus or some form of bacteria, conjunctivitis is highly contagious, and it can sometimes develop due to exposure to factors such as fabrics, seasonal allergens or makeup.

To treat the condition and minimize its chances of returning, discard or heavily launder any materials that may have come in contact with the affected eye, including sheets, eye cosmetics, towels or facecloths. Contact your eye doctor promptly for an assessment, and in the meantime, avoid touching your eye or swimming and be sure to wash your hands frequently.
